KEY TOPICS
Finding your place in a team.
Turning theory into real practice.
Confidence with children, whānau and colleagues.
Becoming comfortable with being a teacher who is still learning.
You’ve got the theory, the qualification and probably a head full of educational jargon, now comes the fun part: actually teaching!
Starting out in early childhood education can be exciting and rewarding, but it can also be incredibly overwhelming. Suddenly, you’re part of a teaching team, building relationships with whānau, responding to children in the moment, contributing to planning and assessment, navigating different personalities and wondering whether you’re actually doing a good job.
This Early Years by TFG webinar is designed to ease your nerves about the ‘real world’ of ECE and explore some of the things that aren’t always taught in class. Build your confidence, develop your personal professional voice and turn all that theory and jargon into practical, comfortable teaching. We’ll focus on recognising the strengths you already bring, rather than trying to turn you into the ‘perfect teacher’. It’s practical, supportive and honest because becoming a confident, reflective teacher isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about feeling comfortable with where you are, knowing you can keep learning and having the confidence to do the work you actually do.
