Early Years
Real ECE support for the work you actually do.
Early Years provides practical resources, relevant professional development and experienced guidance for early childhood teachers, leaders, owners, boards and services across Aotearoa. We understand the daily reality behind the theory. The children and whānau who need you present. The team that needs leadership. The documentation, funding, licensing and ERO expectations that still have to be met. We help turn complexity into confident practice without losing sight of what matters most.
You should not have to choose between quality and compliance
Strong early childhood services protect children, meet their responsibilities and create rich places to learn and belong. These are not separate jobs. When requirements feel confusing or the workload becomes overwhelming, teams can begin documenting for evidence rather than improving practice. Leaders spend their energy reacting. Capable teachers lose confidence and compliance starts to feel like something done to the service. Early Years helps teams understand the purpose behind expectations, connect evidence with everyday practice and build systems that support rather than replace good teaching.

You may be looking for support because…
An ERO visit or Ministry review is approaching.
Licensing or regulatory changes feel difficult to interpret or implement.
Policies exist, but practice and evidence are not consistent.
Planning and assessment need to become more meaningful and manageable.
A new manager, team leader or pedagogical leader needs development.
Teachers need mentoring, registration support or greater professional confidence.
Internal evaluation and professional growth processes have become compliance exercises.
Team culture, communication or wellbeing are affecting practice.
Your service needs practical templates and resources that people will actually use.
You want curriculum inspiration grounded in Te Whāriki and the reality of your learners.
Your service is doing well and wants to deepen quality further.
You do not need to know which package fits. Tell us what is happening and what you want to strengthen. We will help identify a useful starting point.

Mandy’s expertise comes from having lived and led the realities of early childhood education herself. She isn’t another voice telling you that change needs to happen, she is alongside you, helping you work out how to make it happen in a way that works for your service, your team and your community.
ECE can be challenging. New policies and regulations, changing expectations, staff and team dynamics, documentation, governance and the everyday demands of running a centre can quickly become overwhelming. Mandy understands that because she has been there too. With 20 years of experience in New Zealand ECE and a deep understanding of Te Whāriki, she can help you make sense of what is required, identify where you need to go and work alongside you to get there, practically, thoughtfully and without losing sight of what matters most.

Early Years provides practical ECE and organisational guidance grounded in real experience. We understand that the challenges facing an early childhood service don’t always fit neatly into one category. A staffing issue might connect to workplace culture, a change in regulation might affect your policies and processes, or a leadership challenge might need support across several areas.
Where a matter requires formal legal, employment, clinical, accounting or other specialist advice, we are clear about that boundary and will recommend obtaining the appropriate professional support. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have to navigate it alone. TFG works across several areas of people and organisational development, including HR, leadership, workplace culture and wellbeing through Lead Together. Where it is appropriate, these areas of support can work alongside Early Years to give you a more connected approach.
TFG has the practical tools, experience and relationships to help you understand what is happening, identify what support is needed and work alongside the right professionals when specialist advice is required. The goal is not to pretend we have every answer, it is to make sure you have the right support to move forward with confidence.

How Early Years can help.
Professional Development reaches monday morning.
A workshop can be inspiring and still change very little. Early Years professional development is designed to travel back into the service. We connect learning with current examples, realistic tools and clear next steps. Where support continues over time, teams can try new approaches, reflect on what happened and make adjustments with guidance beside them.

ERO and licensing readiness without panic
Readiness is strongest when a service understands its own practice, responsibilities and evidence before anybody asks to see it. Early Years helps leaders review what is in place, identify genuine gaps and organise the work in a sensible order. We prepare teams to speak confidently about what they do, why they do it and how they know it is making a difference. Support may include:
A focused readiness review
Review of selected high priority evidence and systems
Assurance statement and governance preparation
Licensing criteria implementation support
Team conversations and interview preparation
Action planning for identified gaps
Follow up support as improvements are embedded
TFG cannot guarantee the outcome of an ERO or Ministry process. We can help your service become clearer, more organised and more confident in the practice and evidence it is responsible for.
Notice what matters. Respond with intention. Make the learning visible.
